Michael F. Connors
Vice President & Partner

As Vice President and Partner, Mr. Connors manages all the firm’s operations, with specific attention paid to the contract staffing and business development functions. He maintains a broad network of highly skilled staffers and contract employees, which he has cultivated over his last six years in the staffing industry.

Day-to-day responsibilities for Mr. Connors include hiring and coaching top internal talent, managing performances, and providing operational support. Externally, Mr. Connors works to maintain a best-in-class recruiting strategy and stays ahead of changing trends and demands in the finance and accounting recruiting market. In an industry that often falls prey to transactional achievement, Mr. Connors values the partnerships he develops with both candidates and clients, ensuring successful, long-term relationships.

Mr. Connors began his recruiting career over six years ago at Aerotek supporting their scientific and professional services division. In 2013, Mr. Connors opened a start-up accounting and finance subsidiary at Aerotek – Stephen James Associates – located in Washington, DC. After three years of success at Stephen James, Mr. Connors moved to Denver, Colorado to work for VincentBenjamin, a top local accounting and IT recruitment firm. During this time Mr. Connors, focused on contingent permanent placement and contract recruiting for accounting, finance, and IT professionals.

Mr. Connors was born and raised in Bethesda, Maryland, but he attended Arizona State University and graduated with a degree in Business Communications. In his spare time, Mr. Connors enjoys attending professional sporting events – he is an avid Washington sports fan – as well as golfing with his friends and spending time with his family and their yellow lab, Brady.

Lindsay N. Crutchfield
Director of Recruiting

As a Director of Recruiting, Ms. Crutchfield specializes in direct hire searches and has successfully completed searches in a variety of industries, with a particular emphasis on the real estate and financial services industries. She has partnered with some of Washington, DC’s most reputable business leaders, and has developed strong relationships with some of the city’s best accounting and finance professionals, ranging from analysts and accountants to directors and managers.

On a day-to-day basis, Ms. Crutchfield manages client relationships through regular communication, coordinates with other recruiters to ensure clients’ needs are being met, and develops and maintains strong relationships with candidates and clients. With significant exposure to both clients and candidates, Ms. Crutchfield values ensuring both her client and her candidates are happy, satisfied, and excited.

Ms. Crutchfield is outgoing, passionate, and a driven, making her a strong advocate for all her candidates and clients. She started her career as a recruiter at an international, Fortune 500 staffing agency and has more than 10 years of recruiting in a variety of industries in the Washington, DC metro area. She then switched to corporate recruiting, with talent acquisition roles at a rapidly growing security technology company, a publicly traded human resources software and services company, and a top 10 financial services company.

A homegrown DC-area native, Ms. Crutchfield graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s University with a Bachelor’s degree in Rhetoric and Communications. When she’s not tirelessly working with clients and candidates, Ms. Crutchfield loves to spend her spare time with family and friends, cheering on the Nationals or the Redskins, exploring DC’s many great food options, traveling to as many places as possible, or just relaxing in good company by the water. She currently lives in Olney, Maryland with her husband.

Elizabeth M. Barton
Manager of Recruiting

As a Manager of Recruiting, Ms. Barton specializes in executing contract and contract-to-hire searches in a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, nonprofit, technology, etc. Cultivated through routine meetings, phone calls, and emails, she has an extensive network that includes some of the best accounting and finance professionals Washington, DC has to offer.

The majority of Ms. Barton’s day is spent talking to accounting and finance professionals and building her network. As the primary source for accounting and finance contractors, Ms. Barton enjoys speaking with candidates, learning about their experiences and career goals, and matching them with opportunities that will advance their careers.

Ms. Barton has more than three years of recruiting experience but a total of about seven years of experience in sales environment. She began her career at a travel agency as a sales agent where she gained initial exposure to understanding her customers’ needs and ensuring their gratification. She then transitioned into recruiting at an international professional services firm where she excelled at helping both clients and candidates through the hiring process.

Originally from a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ms. Barton graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising. When she is not in the office helping candidates achieve their career goals, Ms. Barton can be found enjoying the sunny outdoors. She is an avid runner, a workout devotee, and an adventurous foodie. She currently lives in Arlington, Virginia.
