Our Client, a medical education, education technologies and medical publishing company, is actively seeking a Human Resurces Specialist, focusing on payroll and benefits. This individual will have a 50/50 split between the HR functions and payroll. Experience working within an HR, payroll, and benefits roll is required and this individual must have experience working within ADP Workforce Now.
Responsibilities
Prepares and submits monthly payroll for three companies via ADP Workforce Now
Processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades
Completes registrations with new States and local jurisdictions for income tax and SUTA withholdings
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
Continue to automate payroll and benefits through ADP and Kelly Services platform
Perform employee on-boarding meetings for new hires; ensure collection of all required information and paperwork-sign off on checklist
Produce employee off-boarding paperwork
Performs various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provides general ledger support.
Reporting & management of Worker’s Comp, disability, and supplemental benefit claims
Responsible for monthly benefit billing and reconciliations
Prepare for and serve as contact for payroll/HR-related audits
Answer employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits; facilitate problem resolution of same with vendors
Assist the finance team with payroll related reporting and forecasting as needed
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Related experience with comprehensive multi-state payroll processing utilizing ADP or other comparable programs.
Must have excellent Excel skills.
ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
Possess a full understanding of medical, dental, vision, disability, life, Section 125, flexible-spending accounts, 401(k), and defined benefit plans.
Experience working with brokers and carriers to resolve company and employee issues required.
Is knowledgeable of legal and regulatory requirements including ERISA, COBRA, ADA, HIPPA and FMLA.
